Keeping Active During The Holidays

Keeping Active During The Holidays
December 28, 2021AdminUncategorized

The holiday season is just around the corner, along with a packed schedule of stress and endless events that typically accompany this time of year. Many patients get anxious about staying active when the holidays come around, but with some strategizing, you can stay healthy and motivated. At Flowers Physical Therapy, our team will work with you to help you stay motivated and stay active throughout the holidays.

Keeping Active During The Holidays

Staying healthy and active during the holidays is always a challenge. Still, even if you have a packed schedule, it’s essential to integrate some kind of physical activity into your daily routine. In fact, even just a few minutes of exercise a day can help reduce stress, increase your energy levels, and keep off extra pounds. Here are some valuable tips on how to keep active during the holidays this year:

  • Make exercise a family affair – You can use the holidays as an opportunity to bond with your family and get active in a group setting. Instead of lounging on the couch after a big meal, gather everyone to go for a walk or play catch outside.
  • Plan – If you’re traveling this year, planning makes all the difference. Planning and figuring out what your options are for exercise can ensure you are prepared for anything. If no gym or equipment is available, our team can help you plan simple workouts that don’t require much space or equipment.
  • Make a schedule – It can be hard to squeeze in a workout during this busy time. We recommend making a schedule and sticking to it to stay on your game. Set reminders to try and find some consistency for when and how long to exercise.
  • DIY exercise – Did you know that simple household activities like cleaning or shoveling snow can work your muscles and get your heart pumping? It’s important to note that you should lift with your legs bent instead of using your back to avoid injuries while shoveling.
